- Integrating micromachining processes into existing production lines.
- Efficient and economic microfabrication in terms of time from order to delivery
- Development of CAD/CAM tools for microfabrication.
- Research into tool quality, tool life and prediction of tool life (e.g. micro millers).
- Ultra precision spindle and collet technology for micromilling.
- Ultra precise workpiece clamping and positioning.
- Development of standardized microparts for mass production of micro devices.
- Training of employees for microfabrication.

- A preliminary meeting was held at the 10th International euspen Conference in Zurich, Switzerland in May 2008.
- The first technical meeting was held at the Laboratory for Precision Machining, Bremen, Germany on the 14th and 15th October 2008.
