euspen welcomes new president

In June 2009, euspen was delighted to welcome new President, Dr Henny Spaan, who will lead euspen's Council of Directors for the coming two years. As President and CEO of leading Dutch precision engineering company, IBS Precision Engineering, Dr Spaan brings a wealth of experience in the technical fields championed by the Society. Further he is well placed to understand the challenges posed to the community euspen serves by the current demanding ecomonic circumstances. 

Dr Spaan's inaugural speech was delivered to an audience of over 370 leading experts in the field at the Society's annual international conference held in San Sebastian, Spain.  In his speech, Dr Spaan set out his view of euspen as ' an entrepreneurial network of leading industrialists and researchers working in the field of precision, micro and nano engineering in an ever faster changing environment. As such a network, euspen provides access to the knowledge, people, institutions and companies who together may address this challenge and strengthen the future of precision engineering'.
